Religious Education classes for grades K through 6th grade are available in Englsh and Spanish. Contact Kathleen Hicks, Director of Religious Educaiton for information. Registration for the Fall of 2006 will begin in early August. Religious Education classes are conducted in English and Spanish.

First Communion is traditionally celebrated with baptized children in the second grade.
Children are required to attend classes either at Saint Mary's School or in the Parish Religious
Education Program on Sunday Mornings. Home schooled students in the second grade or older
must call the Director of Religious Education at 668-2596 for further information.
In order for children to understand the relationship between the Sacraments and the Church, children
must have two years of catechesis, either at Saint Mary's Parish or elsewhere. Please call the Director
of Religious Education for further information. This two-year program and a retreat fulfills the Diocese of Memphis requirement for reception of the first sacrmanets.
For students older than seven, a special two year program is available. This program is
also available for children over the age of seven who have not been baptized.
Sacramental Program for Confirmation
(English and Spanish)
Confirmation is one of the Sacraments of Initiation in the Catholic Church. It is a sacrament of mature commitment and a deepening of the baptismal gifts that a child receives in Baptism.
Confirmation is received by a child in the 8th grade. Requirements for the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation are the following:
- The child must attend the 7th and 8th grade program in the Youth Program
- Participate in a Confirmation Retreat
- Attend the Confirmation class on Sunday morning beginning in January (if the child is not enrolled a St. Mary's School)
If a child nas not received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist or Reconciliation, then partricipation in a two-year program is required. This class is held on Sunday mornings.

Classes are held every Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. for teens, grades 7 - 12. This is a time for prayer, fun and games.
RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

The Catholic Church always welcomes new members into its community. The Rite of Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the present-day process by which people enter into the Faith. RCIA is a process in which interested men and women can explore Catholicism, and make a decision to become a Catholic over a per9od of months.
The process begins with period of inquiry. Two inquiry sessions will be held during the motnh of July. These sessions will be held on Tuesday, July 10, and Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church Hospitality Room (located in the church, just off the lobby to the right) beginning at 7:00 p.m.

- Interested in learning more about the Catholcih Church
- Unbaptized and you have a need for spirituality in your life
- Baptized, but never received any formal religious education
- Married to a Catholic and you attend Mass with them, and you want to share in their faith
- Seeking something in your life, but not sure what?
